Yes, Waterotor is fully patented World-wide, over 80 countries have issued patents – with extensively added patents each year, pending advances plus providing patent fencing. Waterotor patents are jumbo patents with a very high degree of Global protection.

Waterotor is not a publicly traded company and we are not listed on any stock exchanges. We have starting a Series “A” round of financing. If you are interested in investing please let us know HERE.

Our initial target markets for Waterotor are the following:

  • The 1 billion people today that do not have electricity and will never be connected to the grid
  • The 800 million people that have electricity but it is very expensive (i.e. running off of a diesel generator for a few hours a day at around costs of $0.50 to $1.00/kW-hour).
  • Off grid living where electricity grid connections are not available or affordable
  • Disaster relief situations like Puerto Rico
  • Military & Naval applications
  • Oil and Gas Platform Maintenance
  • Eventually Primary electricity production for major grids -from ocean currents (Gulf Stream, etc.)
  • MicroGrid: $16.58 Billion (2015) to $38.99B (2022) according to Markets and Markets
  • NanoGrid: $37.8B (2014) to $59.5B (2022) according to Navigant Research

Waterotor cannot operate where the river’s submerged flow is not moving. Waterotors will work if submerged below a surface ice sheet, if the river or waterway is deep enough. They are robust and not effected by ice particles.

Probably yes if you live in North America and parts of Europe. Note: Waterotor is starting to look into the permit requirements. As mentioned above our target markets are the 1.2 billion people that do NOT have electricity today or the millions of homes and businesses that are running off of a diesel generator. In these cases permits for installation probably will not be required or will have minimal requirements.

Waterotor is designing our products to last as long as possible. Re; the 1,000 watt Waterotor, the mean time between failure for all the parts in the system is a minimum of 15 years. On the larger sized Waterotors all components are being designed to last a minimum of 20+ years.

Waterotor is designing our products to last as long as possible. On the 1,000 watt Waterotor, the mean time between failure for all the parts in the system is a minimum of 10 years (this is not to say that the product will not fail for 10 years). On the larger sized Waterotors all components are being designed to last a minimum of 20 years. Waterotor intends to offer a one year warranty on all our products.

Waterotor operates (generates electricity) in slow moving water. Where no other, in-water technology has been proven, below 6.5 mph. Waterotor’s consume no fuel, generate no emissions during operation, have low ecological impact, and can be used to replace technologies that generate CO2 and other greenhouse gases and pollutants. The small 1,000 watt Waterotor is meant to be deployed as a standalone unit.

The Waterotor is simple to operate, making Waterotor a leading-edge technology for regions with little infrastructure or technological skill. They are also easy to maintain. Waterotor’s vast early market arena includes coastal communities, remote ocean islands, and isolated rural sites in developing countries. Typically, in such cases, electricity is unavailable due to the cost of supplying fuel to remote areas or is very expensive. Most of the world outside North America, if on diesel power are paying $0.75+ per kWh or more for electricity.

Waterotors are typically designed currently for uni-directional constant flow such as in major ocean currents

Waterotor is a low environmental impact technology. Waterotor’s benefit the environment by moderating and smoothing flow rates to reduce erosion and protect shorelines and provide slower moving pools behind each rotor to help fish and other wildlife traveling against the current. Waterotor’s slow rotation speed is fish-friendly. The blades and central drum-like rotor turn in a rolling motion at the river flow speed plus produce a “water cushion” over the rotor to help fish avoid any contact with the rotor. Moreover, Waterotor’s do not produce emissions or require significant civil engineering.

There is no proven competition that is operating or proven alternatively as a profitable technology; submerged in waterflow moving less than 6.5 mph! – Waterotor has proven both operation and low cost economic operation. – that no other form of turbine can match. Some have testaments to low speed operation, but cannot prove our low cost and high Coefficient of Power output in operational range (6.5 mph to 2 mph) that we globally own!

  • Device is Portable (fits in the back of a truck), and up to 20 units in an ISO Container
  • Device can be assembled on site (Customer will pour sand or concrete into two side molds to provide the weight/strength necessary to hold the Waterotor in place up to 2.68m/s water speeds)
  • Device only needs minimum water depth
  • Device can be relocated easily (2 to 3 men install or relocate)
  • Completely molded out of very strong rotomolded plastic construction so it does not corrode in salt water (other components are high grade stainless steel)
  • Operates without fuel cost that is needed to power traditional generators
  • Generates power at around $0.05 to $0.10 kW-hour vs some Diesel generators at 5 to 10 times the price
  • Waterotor is environmentally friendly, no fish or animal harm or disruption as the Ferguson blades on the Waterotor move in the direction of the flow at the speed of the water.
  • Generates power 24 x7 whereas wind or solar is 20% peak output per 24 hour day.

Waterotor complements Wind and Solar and should be part of the overall solution when and where possible. The cost of Waterotor electricity is many times less expensive than either Solar or Wind since the depreciation and low manufacturing cost implemented by 24 hour 360 per year operation, delivers output; kilowatt per hour costs expected to be nearly as low as hydro dam energy. But with no dam building and environmental destruction.

It is important to note that the average power consumption in the un-developed world is under 400 watts of power or 3,471 kW-hours per year per household. Only in Europe, Australia, Middle East and North America do households consume more power than the world average. North America (USA) averaged home electricity use is approximately 2.5 kilowatts per hour X each 24 hour period (22,000 kilowatt hours per averaged household per year)
